The CIEH Allergens Awareness course is essential for all staff working the catering industry. It has been designed to comply with the Food Labelling Regulation - EC1169/2011. This course provides fundamental understanding of food labelling in accordance with the Regulation.
Introduction of allergens
Identifying allergies and their causes
Identifying cross contamination warnings
Withdrawing affected food from sale
Notifying customers of regulated allergens
actions to take in case of allergic reaction
This course covers the understanding of food labels and how to avoid cross contamination in common food sales, serving and preparation situations.
Candidates will learn how allergens can lose their potency and the impact this has on labelling requirements.

You will need around
1 hour to complete
the course (depending on learning speed). The licence gives you unlimited Online access for one year from the date of purchase.
Examination and Certification
Once you have finished the learning, you will be required to take an online examination to successfully complete the CIEH Allergens Awareness course. This test consists of
20 questions of which 15 must be answered correctly to achieve a pass.
Candidates achieving a pass will be able to immediately print their
CIEH Certificate of Completion.
We recommend this course is refreshed every 3 years.
